may came home with a smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone
for whatever we lose (like a you or a me)
it’s always ourselves we find in the sea
Out on the furthest tip of the Gaspé Peninsula is Forillon National Park. As has happened to us before, we planned to spend one day and then, sitting at the water’s edge our first morning, changed our minds. It’s just too beautiful. The natural surroundings are phenomenal, there are lots of hiking trails, and it’s steeped in history. And, unlike many other provincial and national parks in Quebec, Melo and Pix were welcome there. On the trails and on the beaches, as long as they were leashed.
